As Term 3 draws to a close, our thoughts and prayers are with our Year 12 students whom we farewelled this week. We celebrated this significant rite of passage with a number of memorable events.

The celebrations commenced on Monday 21 September with a BBQ and picnic on the College grounds. Year 12 and staff gathered on Wednesday 23 September for a beautiful Graduation Mass celebrated by Father Phil Zadro.  This was followed by the Graduation Assembly. There were some lovely surprises for our Year 12 girls, an emotional video from their parents and a video tribute from staff, a commemorative pin and a whole school guard of honour through our spectacular school grounds. Visit our Domremy College youtube channel to see the presentations from this week.

Our students have grown academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually during their time here at Domremy College. These young women have been wonderful role models and will be remembered as a generous and compassionate year group who gave us the theme ‘Take a Chance…Where Will You Land?’.

We wish them all well into next term for their HSC examinations and beyond in their future years. We know they will be women who will leave us carrying Nano Nagle’s lantern in their hearts and we hope they will continue to be inspired to be their best selves, to let their light shine and in doing so, be advocates for a brighter world.

Year 12 Graduates recited the Prayer of Dedication, led by Alexa, 2020 College Captain:

Today, I dedicate myself to a new venture, to the beginning of a new path in my life.

May I live each day closer to your will, growing in virtue, to serve my neighbour in love and humility, as Nano Nagle did. May I use these gifts in the service of others.

Bless my parents, through whom you have given me life, and help me to understand that they are there to guide and nurture me. Assist me towards a greater appreciation of what they have done, and will do for me.

I pray that I will welcome the responsibility required of me, and I commit myself to my future path. In all that lies ahead, I pray that I will stay close to your light shining deep within me.

May Christ be ever my light and life.

Amen.
