Year 8 STEM Sustainable House Project

 

Each year students in Year 8 participate in the Year 8 topic ‘Going off the Grid’, which spans across Science, Technology and Mathematics. This year students learnt about the science of sustainable living in Term 3 with Science and then in Term 4, they applied what they learnt to design some house plans in Mathematics. During activities week students then worked in groups to make either a virtual model of their plans or a real-life model. The participation and enthusiasm of Year 8 was exceptional, as were the models that they produced.
