Congratulations to our Year 12 student, Beatrice. Her beautiful artwork, 'La Vita, 2021', a portrait of her grandmother, was selected as a finalist in the Little Darlings Youth Portrait Prize 2022, and will, as a result, be hung in the National Portrait Gallery.

The Little Darlings Youth Potrait Prize will be on display at the National Portrait Gallery in conjunction with the National Photographic Portrait Prize and the Darling Portrait Prize, from 25 June 2022 to 9 October 2022.

From The Gallery's website:

16-18 years

‘La Vita’ is a portrait of my Italian grandmother, poised and wearing her favourite jewellery. La Vita means ‘life’ and the Italian word relates to her upbringing and culture. She is full of character and has many stories to tell. The earthy tones allude to her past, growing up in the countryside of Italy and are blurred with faint blue pigments which relate to how memories can fade overtime, but the overall character of the person remains and so do the most important events in their history. My grandmother has lived through worlds of old and new.

A huge achievement, we are so proud of you Beatrice!
