Our Big Sister/Little Sister Program allows for relationships to develop between students in Year 11 and students in Year 7, as mentors and guides through the first year of high school. Students spend time together during our Growth Matters Program, where Year 11 are able to provide support, advice and friendship to our Year 7 students.

Student reflections:

It was a fulfilling experience to spend quality time with my little sister, as it allowed us to further bond and connect through discussing her new Year 7 journey. The Growth Matters program gave me the opportunity to support her by providing advice and knowledge on the different challenges that are prominent in Year 7.
– Deborah, Year 11

Spending time with my big sister in our Growth Matters lesson was so unique.
It is truly so special to spend some quality time together to talk about school and life.
Our buddies can help us so much and make settling into school a great experience.
– Sade, Year 7

It was nice to realise how I wasn’t that different to the Year 11s. I enjoyed being open, having fun chats with them, and knowing I’m not the only one feeling certain ways and dealing with things. Being able to talk to the Year 11s makes me feel less intimidated as a Year 7. They are very nice and genuine and I had a great time!
– Florence, Year 7
